Can you tell us about your background and what initially sparked your interest in interior design/architecture?

My background is rooted in the Mediterranean, with ties to Cyprus, as well as influences from the Caribbean. Having traveled extensively across continents I always enjoyed the vast differences in cultures, buildings, landscapes, and topography. Ignited my passion colours, textures, and lighting.

Which are the most important factors when designing a room?

Lighting stands out as the most crucial factor for me when designing a room. It's the element that breathes life into a space. Lighting can transform the colors of fabrics and wallpapers, playing with hues and shadows to create different moods and atmospheres.

Which is your favourite project (finished or ongoing) and why?

As someone relatively new to the field, I haven't had the opportunity to embark on numerous projects just yet. However, the project I am currently working on holds a special place in my heart. It's a small, intimate endeavor that allows me to pour my creativity and passion into every detail. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing it through to completion and witnessing the transformation of the space into something truly special. Looking ahead, I'm excited about the prospect of future projects. Each one presents an opportunity for me to learn, evolve, and refine my skills.

How would you prioritize tasks for a renovation project?

One of my go-to strategies is to work backward from the project's deadline. By setting a clear timeline and identifying key milestones, I can allocate time and resources efficiently.

In terms of task prioritization, I approach renovation projects much like following a recipe. Just as you start with the foundational ingredients in cooking, I prioritize tasks that form the basis of the renovation. This typically includes elements such as flooring, lighting, and walls. Getting these fundamental elements right from the start lays a solid groundwork for the rest of the project.

Would you ever prioritize aesthetics over function when designing a room?

I don't believe I would ever prioritise aesthetics over function when designing a room. What good is a beautifully designed space if it doesn't serve its intended purpose effectively?

We don't live in dollhouses where aesthetics can reign supreme over practicality. In the real world, people interact with their environments in meaningful ways, and a well-designed space should accommodate their needs and activities seamlessly.

How do you stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in interior design/architecture?

I read magazines, I follow a lot of accounts on social media I stay present everywhere I go, and there is a lot of beauty in our surroundings which we can draw inspiration from.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in design. How do you incorporate sustainable practices into your designs?

I'm thrilled to see sustainability gaining momentum in the design industry, particularly within the luxury sector. One key approach is through the selection of materials and fabrics that have minimal environmental impact. This includes opting for renewable, recyclable, or upcycled materials wherever possible.

Which are your top 3 favourite home brands?

Soho Home, Hermès, Ralph Lauren

Which is your current favourite interior design inspiration photo?

I like the 1 Hotel Mayfair- living chandelier.

Also, the Daphne restaurant in Toronto – restaurant – shapes colours curves unreal

Where is your favourite place to be, when you want to get inspired?

For me, there's nothing quite like the exhilarating feeling of being in a new and unfamiliar place outside of the UK. The warmth of the sun on my face, coupled with the excitement of exploring a destination I've never set foot in before, never fails to ignite my creativity and inspire me. Being surrounded by unfamiliar landscapes, architecture, and cultures opens my mind to fresh perspectives and sparks ideas that I may not have encountered otherwise.

What is your dream home style?

I am drawn to a refined aesthetic that incorporates rich colors and textured fabrics, with a particular fondness for the timeless allure of olive green and earthy tones. In terms of architectural elements, I have a penchant for curves, whether it's in the graceful lines of arched doorways or the soft contours of furniture pieces.

Where in the world have you stayed where interior design & architecture have really stood out, and why?

My journey into interior architecture was ignited by a profound experience at Santa Maria de la Grazie. The sheer intricacy and detail of the architecture left me speechless. Additionally, witnessing the basilica in Rome further fueled my passion for interior design and architecture.

What captivates me most are handcrafted elements and towering ceilings.

Home is …

For me, it's a place where I feel most at ease, somewhere warm surrounded by the soothing rhythm of the ocean. I find solace and rejuvenation, a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
