What inspired you to become an interior designer?
I knew from an early age that I wanted to do something creative. It wasn’t a specific inspiration; it just came naturally.
Which are the most important factors when designing a room?
Designing a room can be a complex process with many factors to consider, but by focusing on a few key elements, you can create a space that truly reflects the client's needs and desires. One of the most important aspects is the purpose and functionality of the room, which should be based on the needs of the client and a thoughtful space planning approach. Lighting is another crucial aspect that should not be overlooked, as it can completely transform the mood and atmosphere of the room. Careful selection of materials is equally important to ensure that aesthetics and durability are maintained, while still fulfilling the purpose of the room.
Which is your favourite project (finished or ongoing) and why?
As a new member of the studio, I'm excited to see the fantastic work that my team is doing on the Old Brompton Road project. Even though I haven't been with the company for very long, I've already been impressed with the level of creativity and attention to detail that goes into every project. The team's rigorous design process, combined with their experience and expertise, produces spaces that are not only visually stunning but also highly functional. I'm eager to see how this project is progressing and how it will ultimately come to life.
Working at a company that values innovation, collaboration, and quality has been a great learning experience so far, and I'm excited to continue growing as a designer and contributing to future projects. I feel privileged to be part of a team that is passionate about creating exceptional spaces that inspire and delight.
How would you prioritize tasks for a renovation project?
When it comes to renovation or remodeling projects, prioritizing tasks is essential for a successful outcome. Starting with a clear vision from the beginning is crucial, as it helps to establish the direction and goals of the project. This clarity should come from an initial briefing with the client and a thorough understanding of their needs and vision for the space. Additionally, ensuring that there is an agreed budget in place is equally important, as it provides a clear guideline for what is achievable within the project. Good technical drawings, elevations, and plans are also fundamental for any renovation project, as they help to convey the design ideas and ensure that the project is executed correctly.
By prioritizing these tasks and ensuring that they are well-executed, you can create a beautifully designed and functionally sound space that meets both the client's needs and expectations.
Would you ever prioritize aesthetics over function when designing a room?
Balance is very important and there is always a solution. Always when designing you should consider the use of the room and respect the habits of the clients but still make it look gorgeous.
How do you keep up to date with the latest trends in interior design?
Trends give you information about the palettes, materials, and architecture that shapes the future, but they should be equally important as history, art, photography, nature, etc. We now all have access to a wide range of images and ideas that present design trends, but as a designer, I am looking to get out of my comfort zone and trends and create meaningful interiors with an authentic feel and a story to tell.
Which are your top 3 favourite design brands?
As a design enthusiast, I have many favorite brands that inspire me and influence my design approach. Among those brands, one of my absolute favorites is Apparatus. Their lighting fixtures are simply stunning and incorporate a unique combination of unexpected materials and finishes. It's always exciting to see how they push the boundaries of what lighting can be and what it can do for a space.
Another brand that I love is Cassina. They have a rich history of producing iconic furniture pieces that are both beautiful and functional. They are masters of the art of upholstery and their attention to detail is unmatched. Their furniture has a timeless quality that makes it a worthwhile investment for any design project.
Finally, I also have a soft spot for vintage and curated pieces from 1stDibs. They have an incredible selection of unique and high-quality pieces that you can't find anywhere else. The stories behind each piece, as well as their craftsmanship and design, add an extra layer of richness to any space.
These three brands stand out to me for their innovation, quality, and design excellence. They inspire me to constantly push myself and my designs to new heights.
Which is your current favourite interior design inspiration photo?
It's very difficult to have just one favourite inspirational photo, especially now that we all receive thousands of images through social media. Although, lately, I always refer to images from Studio Giancarlo Valle.

Where is your favourite place to be, when you want to get inspired?
Near the sea…
What is your dream home style?
The style that is pairing contemporary design with vintage furniture from different eras. You name that style!
Where in the world have you stayed where interior design & architecture has really stood out, and why?
My recent trip to Sicily was a great inspiration. The architecture of old cities like Modica and Noto was simply stunning. We stayed in a house just a few minutes from Ragusa, built in the early twentieth century and tastefully renovated by maintaining its charm intact.
I felt that I was traveling back to a different era. And the most rewarding part was discussing with the owner the history of the house and his family. History, architecture, and nature stood out to me.
